Originally from Southern California, Allison Ulrich is a graduate from Orange County School of the Arts.  In 2005 she was recipient of The International House of Blues Ambassador Scholarship and in 2009, Allison received her BFA from The Juilliard School where she performed works by Twyla Tharp, Martha Graham, Mark Morris, Jose Limon, Nicolo Fonte, Larry Keigwin, Lar Lubovitch, Nacho Duato and Ohad Naharin.  Allison joined the Juilliard Dance Ensemble for their European tour and then went straight into creation for a new production for Cirque Du Soleil, “Viva Elvis”.  With the cast of Viva Elvis, she was a guest performer on Dancing With the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, Strictly Come Dancing, The Daytime Emmys and more.  Allison was the dance captain, a featured dancer and an aerialist.  She now resides in New York working as a freelance artist.  She assists choreographers Cherice Barton and Sonya Tayeh, along with being a part of companies such as Mark Stuart Dance Theater, The Pulse Project, The Metropolitan Opera and  .  Allison is currently performing with Austin McCormick’s Company XIV and guesting with Keigwin and Co.  She is thrilled to be a part of Lindsay Nelko’s “Awakening” as a dancer and assistant.

Casey McIntyre has been working professionally since the age of nine, starring in the National tours of “The Sound of Music” and “Ragtime”. After returning home from tour she started her dance training at Juliana’s Academy of Dance. She then continued her formal dance training at places such as: The Rock School for Dance Education, Academy of Dance the Official School of the Joffrey Ballet, in their first Trainee program, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater on scholarship. Casey joined Complexions Contemporary Ballet in 2012.

kelly sneddon dancer


Kelly Sneddon, originally from Baltimore, Maryland, began her dance education under the direction of her mother, Susan Joines. Upon graduation, she attended North Carolina School of the Arts, studying under Brenda Daniels. Kelly went on to continue her dance education as a trainee at the Joffrey Ballet School in NYC, where she studied under Davis Robertson and Brian McSween. There she was a member of the Joffrey Ballet School touring company. In 2009 Kelly was recognized as a Maryland Distinguished Scholar for dance and that same year was
recognized as a ballet finalist for the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts. Ms. Sneddon joined Complexions Contemporary Ballet in 2012.

Youngsil Kim dancer

YoungSil was Born in Okayama City, Japan. She began her ballet training at Sugimoto Sonoko Ballet with Sonoko Sugimoto and Svetlana Assaouliak. At age 18, Youngsil moved to NYC to study dance at the Joffrey Ballet School and later at Ellison Ballet professional training program, where she graduated in 2008. She has danced with Configuration Dance Theatre, Eglevsky Ballet, Connecticut Ballet Company, Ballet Hispanico II and Peridance Contemporary Dance Company . She has had the opportunity to perform works by choreographers including Susan Jaffe, Sidra Bell, Enzo Celli, Igal Peri, Jiri kylian, William Forsythe and Dwight Rhoden. She has studied summers at Walnut Hill, Houston Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago,Springboard Montreal and Complexions.
Ms.Kim Joined Complexions in 2013.

Ida Saki Dancer


Ida Saki Dancer
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Ida Saki attended Tisch School of the Arts of New York University after graduating from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She has received such accolades as modern dance winner by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts YoungArts, named a Texas Young Master in dance, Iran’s Person of the Day, and received five national honors, including Distinguished Performer of the Year and Outstanding Dancer of the Year. Ida has graced the cover of the prestigious Dance Spirit MagazineParastoo Magazine, and has appeared within the magazines numerous times. Beyond her dancing, Ida’s choreography has received national recognition through various dance competitions as well as National High School Dance Festival. In 2010, Ida was the only female dancer to be named the Presidential Scholar and meet President Obama. In addition to her accomplishments, she works to raise money for childhood cancer as a co-founder of Dancers Give Back Dallas. Recently, she co-created and performed at a show premiered at the Kennedy Center and was also named one of Dance Magazine’s 2013 Top 25 to Watch. She currently dances and internationally tours with Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet.

Acacia Schachte Dancer


Acacia Schachte was raised in Vancouver, Canada where she received her early training at Arts Umbrella under the direction of Artemis Gordon.  From 1999-2006, Schachte danced with Ballet British Columbia where she performed works by Jiří Kylián, William Forsythe, Twyla Tharp, John Alleyne, and James Kudelka among others.  She moved to New York in 2006 to join Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet where she danced and toured internationally for eight seasons.  During this time, she had the special opportunity to work with leading choreographers, such as Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Hofesh Shechter, and Jacopo Godani.

Amy Ruggiero Dancer


Amy Ruggiero Dancer
Amy Ruggiero, originally from New York, danced for two seasons each at Ballet Austin and American Repertory Ballet after graduating from Goucher College with a BA in Dance with Biological Sciences. She currently works with Twyla Tharp Dance and was the Dance Captain plus Female Principal/Ensemble Swing on both the 1st National Broadway and Japan Tours of Tharp’s Come Fly Away. Ms. Ruggiero also performs in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and was in the original cast of RC’s Heart and Lights.  She appeared in the equity showcase R/evolution the Musical at NYU last summer. Freelance work includes projects with Opera New Jersey, MorDance, Nimbus Dance Works, Terra Firma Dance Theatre, Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, and KineticWorks. In the spring of 2014, Siobhan Burke of The New York Times reviewed MorDance at the Sheen Center, describing Ms. Ruggiero as “compact” and “bright-eyed” while being “connected, to both the movement and the audience.” Film and TV credits include: Flesh and Bone (Audition Dancer), Heart and Lights commercial (Degas Ballerina), and the intro video for Beyoncé: The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour (Ballerina). Having been on faculty at a number of schools, Ms. Ruggiero presently teaches master classes in ballet, contemporary dance and musical theatre as well as workshop courses in dance anatomy. She is so grateful for the opportunity to dance Lindsay Nelko’s beautiful work alongside such talented artists.

Ashley Fitzgerald Dancer


Ashley Blair Fitzgerald is from Ellicott City, MD and thrilled to be working with Lindsay Nelko. She recently performed at the Kennedy Center with the 1st National Tour of Come Fly Away, in which she starred as Kate and was nominated for a 2013 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actress, non-resident production. Past performances in New York include The Radio City Christmas Spectacular and  Company with the New York Philharmonic. Favorite national tour credits include Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Fosse (Trumpet Soloist, I Gotcha). International credits include Come Fly Away, Trip of Love and Fosse. Television credits include Smash (NBC Pilot) and special guest appearances on the Tony Awards. Over the past year Ashley has been reconstructing Bob Fosse’s work for archival purposes with his daughter, Nicole Fosse, and The Verdon Fosse Estate. Ashley sends so much love to her always supportive family.

Daniela Filippone Dancer


Daniela Filippone Dancer
Daniela Filippone is originally from Ridgewood, NJ, where she began her dance training with Lisa Danias, Candace Mancini, Tom Karaty and Dan Karaty.  She has trained and competed nationally in ballet, jazz, pointe, hip hop, contemporary, and tap.  While attending Fordham University she continued her training at Peridance, Steps, and BDC in NYC.  Credits include the Bad Boys of Dance production of Romeo and Juliet (as Juliet) Radio City Christmas Spectacular, New York Metropolitan Opera (Benjamin Millipied's Khovanshchina), and Chris Brown flash mob dancer on the Today Show.  She has also performed with Jeremy McQueen at Jacob's Pillow and with Pushing Progress A Company.  She is a Certified Pilates Instructor and a Graduate of Fordham University.

Lauren Perry Dancer


Lauren Perry Dancer
A native of Nashville, TN, Lauren began her training as a dancer at a very young age. In 2009 she graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BFA in Dance Performance. During her time there, she performed works by choreographers including Twyla Tharp and William Forsythe. She has worked with companies including Complexions Contemporary Ballet, the Metropolitan Opera, and Oliva Contemporary Dance Project. She recently completed a tour through parts of Europe with Bad Boys of Dance under Rasta Thomas and Adrienne Canterna, where she danced the role of "Juliet" in their production of Romeo and Juliet.

Maira Barriga was trained with the School of American Ballet on full scholarship from 2003-2006. On her second year at the school, she accepted the prestigious Mae L. Wein Awards for outstanding promise. Maira started her career as a dancer at the age of 18 when she joined Miami City Ballet where she performed several principal roles.

Sara Hoenes is a native of Portland, OR. She received her early training at the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre and was offered a company contract at age 17. After a year in the company, Sara went on to study on full-scholarship at The University of Arizona, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Summer study includes The San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theater, LINES Ballet and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Sara just finished her first season as a Radio City Rockette, and has performed with Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, James Sewell Ballet, The Foundry and The Steps Repertory Ensemble. Sara has performed in regional productions of The Producers, the International Tour of Zorro: The Musical, and The TV Land Awards Show with Liza Minelli. She has performed works by Sean Curran, Nathan Trice, Warren Adams, Louis Falco, Alonzo King, Jiri Killian, Alex Ketley, Dwight Rhoden, Bill Young, Andrea Miller, Cherice Barton, Benoit Swan Pouffer, Lorin Latarro and Donald Byrd. Sara is thrilled to be working with Lindsay Nelko for her New York debut of Awakening.

Taeler Cyrus Dancer

Taeler Cyrusfrom Los Angeles, CA, graduated with honors from The Ailey School/Fordham University, with a B.F.A. in Dance. While at The Ailey School, she participated in numerous prestigious training intensives including Laban School in London, Impulstanz in Vienna, Jacob’s Pillow, and the American Dance Festival. Professionally, Taeler has danced with River North Dance Chicago, Ailey II, The Metropolitan Opera, Tang Dao Dance Company, and has apprenticed with Complexions Contemporary Ballet. She has also performed at numerous international festivals including The Holland Dance Festival, Portugal’s Cistermúsica Festival, Finland’s Kuopio Dance Festival, Vaison Danses, in France, and Dancers Responding to AIDS’ Fire Island Dance Festival. Taeler has also worked commercially as a dancer for Kanye West, and has modeled for various publications, including Pointe Magazine, Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit, and Real Simple. Most recently Taeler made her Broadway debut in the hit show “After Midnight.”

Addison Ector began his dance training at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy at age 13. After high school, he was accepted into the scholarship program at The Ailey School where he was the recipient of the Alvin Ailey Scholarship after 3 years. He also attended the Jacob’s Pillow Contemporary Program in 2012 & has performed with Germaul Barnes/Viewsic Expressions Dance domestically & internationally. Currently Mr. Ector is in his second year with Complexions Contemporary Ballet.

Kris Nobles started training at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy in 2001. In 2006, Kris won the Tanzolymp Danz Festival in Berlin, Germany competing in classical ballet. During the following year, Mr. Nobles performed a solo and received a bronze medal from Queen Elizabeth’s II youngest son, Prince Edward and former California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger for participating in the “Duke of Edinburgh’s Young Americans Challenge.” In 2008, he was asked by H.R.H, Prince Edward, to perform for his visit to California, to celebrate the second annual “Young Americans Challenge”. During that same year, Kris was featured in Paramount Pictures “Dance Flick” as a principal dancer. After DADA, Kris continued his studies in classical ballet at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts under the direction of American Ballet Theatre’s principal dancer, Ethan Stiefel. During which he performed leading roles in Ethan Stiefiel’s “Nutcracker”, George Balanchine’s “Symphonia Concertante”, Jerome Robbin’s “Fanfare”, and Larry Keigwin’s “Kingdom” just to name a few. In 2013, Kris became apart of the IV Real Mvmnt faculty, a non profit organization teaching and mentioning students who want to take their craft to the next level. Mr Nobles joined Complexions in 2011.

Mark Caserta, a native of Philadelphia, began his training at the Jason Douglas Dance Academy, where he studied tap, hip hop, and acrobatics. He furthered his training at the High School for Creative and Performing Arts and The Ailey School, on Fellowship Scholarship. Here he studied Horton, Graham, ballet, jazz, hip hop and African dance. He has also trained at Philadanco and Complexions Contemporary Ballet summer intensives.

In 2010, he graduated from the University of the Arts with a BFA in Ballet Performance. Mark was a member of Eleone Dance Theater from 2006-2010. He has guest performed with Pennsylvania Ballet, as well as choreographed on PA Ballet II. He is the recipient of the 2009 Rocky Award for outstanding dance performance in Philadelphia, the 2009 Patrick Swayze Scholarship, and the 2010 Pennsylvania Ballet Choreography Award. Mr. Caserta joined Complexions in 2010. 

Mark has set works at the Brooklyn Dance Festival 2014, and the University of the Arts Dance Department in 2014. He also co-founded Drigg Productions in 2013, a small company promoting innovative and humanistic works through dance cinema.

Terk Waters (Mansfield, OH) began his training at the age of 17 with Tony Calucci at the Dance Extension in Columbus, OH. He received his B.F.A. in dance from Western Michigan University where he performed in works by Antony Tudor, Frank Chaves and Ron DeJesus. In addition, Terk has trained with The City Ballet of San Diego and River North Chicago Dance Company. Before Joining Complexions, Mr. Waters danced with the Eisenhower Dance Ensemble, where he performed in works by Laurie Eisenhower, Louis Falco, Eddy Ocampo, Joel Hall and Michael Foley. Mr Waters has also taught and assisted with New York City Dance Alliance, The Pulse Tour, Broadway Dance Center, The Collaborative Dance Project and Creative Dance Productions.

Waters has been invited to perform as a guest performer with the World Ballet Competition "All Stars of Dance", Washington University Dance Theatre, Harlem School of the Arts, Rasta Thomas' "Dreamscape", and The Steps on Broadway Repertory Ensemble, among others. Mr. Waters joined Complexions Contemporary Ballet in 2010.

Kelly Marsh IV started dance at the age of 13 in his hometown of St.Louis at Center of Creative Arts (COCA) under the direction of Lee Nolting. He further his studies in Dance as a Fellowship student at The Ailey School, then as a ballet major at The University North Carolina School of the Arts where he received his BFA Degree in Dance, concentration in Ballet. Kelly has had the pleasure of working with many world renowned choreographers such as Susan Jaffe, Darrell Grand Moultire, Dougls Becker, Ethan Stiefel, Kate Skarpetowska just to name a few. Kelly was a scholarship recipient of The Oprah Winfrey Foundation Fellowship in 2008 and was a member of National Honor Society of Dance Arts. As he continues his professional career, Mr.Marsh is excited to see what the future holds.

Born in Chicago, IL Joseph Kudra began his training at the age of 9, at the American Dance Center under the direction of Jack and Kathleen Villari. He has worked with River North Chicago Dance Company, DanceWorks Chicago, and Luna Negra Dance Theatre. Kudra has performed works by Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Christian Spuck, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter, Edgar Zendejas, Robert Battle, Alex Ketley, Jiri Kylian, Fernando Melo, Fernando Hernando Magadan, Alexander Ekman, Andonis Foniadakias and Asun Noales.

Barton Cowperthwaite was born and raised in Denver, Colorado USA. He began his training with Brian Young at the Off Broadway Academy of Dance. He began taking Hip-Hop classes, then moved on to take Tap and Jazz. His formal ballet training started at age 13 when he was accepted into high school at The Denver School of the Arts. When he was 14 he received a year round scholarship to attend The Academy of Colorado Ballet outside of school. Upon his graduation from DSA in 2010 he moved to the University of Arizona as a Dance major aided by both dance and academic scholarships. He graduated cum laude with a BFA in dance one year early in May 2013. In his time at UA he performed many works including the principal male roles in George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante and Rubies. He choreographed for student performances at the university and has represented the school across the USA and internationally. He was the only American flown out to choreograph, teach, and perform at the 32nd Annual International Galla di Danza in Udine, Italy. He transitioned immediately upon his graduation into working with Rasta Thomas’ Bad Boys of Dance as Romeo in their international production of Romeo and Juliet.

Daniel started dancing at the age of 3 in Newcastle, Australia. He studied jazz, tap, musical theater, hip hop and ballet at the National College of Dance.

As a child Daniel performed with the Australian Ballet, performed in the Sydney Olympic Games opening
ceremony and also at the historic Sydney Opera House.

Eager to dance in the US, Baker moved to New York City to attend the School of American Ballet in Lincoln Center at age 15. He later became a soloist in the Miami City Ballet and danced for San Francisco Ballet for several years.

Daniel has worked with Baz Luhrmann on 'The Great Gatsby', performed with the Rockettes in the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular and was a finalist on the US hit show 'SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE'

Baker is known for choreographing and teaching around the country. He recently choreographed for the New York City Ballet as part of the NY Choreographic Institute.

Jason Kittelberger - Comes from Rochester, New York, where he began performing at age three at the Draper School of Dance, and School of the Arts where he studied dance, acting, and musical theater. He continued his dance education at the North Carolina School of the Arts, where he graduated with a BFA in dance performance. Kittelberger has performed with the Rochester Ballet, Carolina Ballet, Hubbard Street II, and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, and currently working with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui of Eastman in Belgium. I owe much the man I am today to D. Noble.

Jeffrey C. Sousa, a Connecticut native, trained under scholarship at Connecticut Dance Theater and Earl Mosley's Institute of the Arts. He then received a BFA in Ballet Performance from the University of the Arts while guest appearing with Zane Booker's SLJ Arts Initiative and Pennsylvania Ballet. Jeffrey has toured and performed across the globe in Asia, South America, and two Broadway First National Tours; playing Bolo, u/s Bernardo in West Side Story and the Cadet, in Evita. Back in NYC, he has danced for Armitage Gone! Dance and Diversity of Dance, among being a featured dancer on HBO's Boardwalk Empire, a commercial for TIME/LIFE and the comedy, You Must Be Joking which was just shown at the Seattle International Film Festival.  Last summer Jeffrey had the privilege of dancing for Lindsay Nelko at the 2013 Capezio ACE Awards where he performed a section of Lindsay's new work, Awakening. He couldn't be more happy to be part of this project and seeing it come to life.  Many Thanks to Lindsay, the MSA family, friends, and loved ones.

Nicholas Sipes began dancing at age four in his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. He attended high school at The Baltimore School for the Arts, under the direction of Norma Pera. Throughout high school, Nicholas performed in various pieces including George Balanchine's Serenade, Kate Skarpetowska's Standback and has worked with Hinton Battle. During his senior year, Mr. Sipes was awarded a scholarship to study year-round at the prestigious School of American Ballet. At SAB, he performed in Western Symphony, Square Dance, and Bouree Fantasque. He has also attended summer courses on full scholarship at The American Academy of Ballet and Miami City Ballet. Mr. Sipes joined Pennsylvania Ballet in 2006 and danced with the company for 4 years. At his time in The Pennsylvania Ballet, Nicholas performed in George Balanchine's The Nutcracker, Giselle, Mathew Neenan’s Carmina Burana, Sleeping Beauty, Five Tangos, Dracula, Cinderella, and Fearful Symmetries. He also premiered a role in Jupiter Symphony choreographed by Peter Quanz. Nicholas went on to join the cast of Billy Elliot in 2010 and toured the US on the 2nd national tour. When the tour closed in August 2011, Nicholas made his Broadway debut and joined the Broadway cast of Billy Elliot. He performed and finished out the run on Broadway when Billy Elliot closed in January 2012. Nicholas had the opportunity to travel the world in 2012- 2014 as a member of the international tour of West Side Story, playing the role of Geetar. In 2013, Nicholas performed in his first City Center Encores in On Your Toes directed by Warren Carlyle.

Cincinnati born artist Shane Ohmer began training at the School For Creative and Performing Arts and continued on to Pacific Northwest Ballet School. Upon completion of his training, Shane has gone on to enjoy a vast career  with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadienne de Montreal, Bad Boys of Dance and The Broadway National Tour of FLASHDANCE - The Musical. Shane has performed as a guest artist and educator for universities, companies, and studios around the world. Shane remains thankful for the ability to share his art on stage and set the ground work for supporting the growth and openess of other artists.
 
Shane has extensively toured North America, the Middle East, Australia/New Zealand, Asia, Canada and throughout Europe performing in the works of Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Stijn Celis, Nacho Duato, William Forsythe and George Balanchine. He also led Rasta Thomas' show "Rock the Ballet" around the world for two years. In 2014, Shane made his national television debut on The Late Show with Daivid Letterman. Additionally, Shane has choreographed for stage plays, musical reviews and for celebrity designers THE BLONDS for New York Fashion Week. Shane will join the Metropolitan Opera's "Merry Widow" directed by Susan Stroman in August 2014. 
 
With varied interests in fashion, film, education and directing, Shane continues to push personal boundaries towards furthering Dance and Musical Theater on stage, film and beyond. Shane is excited to be a part of Lindsay Nelko's "Awakening"! Many thanks to Lindsay and also to CESD!

sara thompson actress


Sara Thompson is an actress, dancer and writer and was born in Winnipeg, Canada. She studied her craft and has a degree in Acting For Film from the New York Film Academy, New York City Campus. Sara began her acting career with her role as Young Lauren in the feature film Make It Happen. Sara wrote, narrated and performed a memorable and stirring, introspective contemporary dance piece choreographed by Nelko about teenage bullying called Dear Diary. She received International acclaim for the piece and was awarded the silver medal in the contemporary dance IDO World Championship in Poland where she represented Canada. Sara has used her passion for acting and dance to bring awareness to young people in her community and around the world about the devastating effects of bullying. Giving back to her community has always been at the forefront of Sara’s character.
